Feather FletchingsFeather fletchings are lighter than vanes, and lay flat when come into contact to not impede arrow flight. When considering What Wing Feather to Shoot it is an old belief that Right handed (RH) shooters must shoot Left Wing (LW) so the arrow spins away from the riser. This is not the true. An arrow starts spinning once it is in front of the bow. In regards to What Feather Profile this is also a personal choice. The bigger and longer the feather is, the more surface area for wind to drag on. More drag offers more stability of the arrow in-flight, but slows it down also. The most popular is 5" shield feathers.
